Northstar California Resort

Northstar is only 8.2 miles from the Treehouse. We have been coming to Northstar since the 90s and it has never disappointed. We love exploring the mountains on our boards and then hanging out at the Northstar Village and finishing the day off with some drinks and great food. In the summer there are 100 miles of bike trails making it one of the largest bike parks in the US. It also has an 18 hole, par 72 golf course.

Squaw Valley Ski Resort

Squaw Valley is 19.9 miles from the Treehouse. Squaw Valley is huge and was home to the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. We like to take the gondola and Siberia Express all the way to the top and take a nice long mellow ride down the Mountain run. In addition to the world class skiing it has an ice skating rink and snow tubing. After a long day on the mountain we like to explore European-style Village at Squaw Valley which offers 20+ restaurants and bars. shops, and fine art galleries. During the holiday season you might see carolers dressed in Dickens costumes singing holiday classics around the Village. In the summertime there is mountain biking, hiking, paintball, disk golf and a swimming lagoon.

Donner Ski Ranch

Donner Ski Ranch is 22.9 miles away from the Treehouse. We haven’t been to Donner but now that we have kids we plan on going as soon as we get a chance. Donner is geared towards family with their cheaper rates and beginner terrain. We also have an uncle that teaches ski lessons here and can’t wait to get more familiar with Donner. While researching Donner I also learned it is family owned. Come check it out and support local family owned business!

Boreal Mountain Resort

Boreal Mountain Resort is 23.4 miles to the Treehouse. Boreal is the first and only all-mountain terrain park. It is a little on the smaller side but if you have anyone in the family that wants to improve their jibs, jumps and vertical trick abilities this is a great place to learn. Now that we are parents we ride a little more on the mellow side but we might be back if the kids need a thrill. Be sure to wear a helmet!
